About Our Website

Hi from Dan and Maria,
We’ve gotten tired of worrying about the use of the various social media services. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, browsers like Google and mail services like Gmail all are paid for by our loss of privacy. Not only can they spread our information in ways we might not agree with institutions like naturalization and immigration demand access to social accounts. And they are given access anyway by these social media companies to comply with their demands. We’ve all become accustomed because it’s easy. We signup, they give us convenient social connections and tools and in return we open our lives to them for sale. So we’re trying an experiment to create our own personal information site to share with friends and family.

For many years we’ve paid for a private hosting server. Dan, in a concentrated two days of effort created a website for our business. But then has done little to update it. We realized we could really take advantage and; given a brush up on old programing skills; use it to create a truly safe and secure site. One that does not use or pass on personal information. One that is completely secure because we own it and pay for it ourselves.

So we’ll see how it goes. Any problems I want to know.

Navigation hopefully is obvious. We’ll have a blog that we only update occasionally with events of our lives. That is standard blog format. Most recent at the top. The other menu items are as you see. I’m not sure if the trips will be in blog format yet. We’ll see how it goes.
